Description:
EVENT NARRATIVE: A trained spotter in Whitefield reported a gust of 57 mph. EPISODE NARRATIVE: A rapidly intensifying storm system moved up the eastern seaboard on Saturday the 28th, then tracked north across New York State on Saturday night. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph were common with gusts to 60 mph. Trees were reported down throughout the state. In Bethlehem and Laconia, trees were reported to have fallen on homes. In Portsmouth, the high winds were reportedly responsible for burning out the electrical system on the Sarah Long Drawbridge. Storm related wind damage totaled in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
