Description:
Thunderstorm downburst winds estimated to be around 70 mph caused widespread damage. A 60 mph gust was measured by spotters in Mount Vernon at 8:10 p.m. Well over 100 trees were downed in the county with 30 in Mount Vernon alone. Homes were damaged in both Mount Vernon and Centerburg. Widespread power outages occurred and many roads and highways were blocked by fallen trees.
